Fat Snax Cookies Review

At some point during your journey on the low carb ketogenic diet, you may experience a moment of weakness. This could manifest as simple hunger pangs between meals or after exercising, or a longing for a beloved pasta dish. Alternatively, you might find yourself craving sweet keto snacks. Regardless of the specific form this weakness takes, it’s important to have a dependable solution on hand that can satisfy these cravings without disrupting ketosis.

This is where Fat Snax comes in. These cookies are naturally low in carbs and available in three delicious flavors: Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter, and Lemony Lemon. Each Fat Snax cookie contains 8 grams of fat and only a few grams of “net” carbs.

The makers of Fat Snax highly recommend their products as a solution for those times when your diet is feeling challenging. But do these cookies truly align with the principles of the keto diet?

Fat Snax Chocolate Chip and other cookies are not intended to kickstart ketosis but instead to ensure you can stay the course when faced with those inevitable moments of weakness. Fat Snax Keto Cookies are available in three flavors:

  • Fat Snax Chocolate Chip – You can’t really say “keto low carb snack” without saying the word “chocolate” as well. Everyone under the sun that makes low-carb and keto-friendly sweet snacks has a fat bomb chocolate-something snack in their lineup. Fat Snax is no exception.
  • Fat Snax Peanut Butter – These have a nice soft texture and are said to include natural peanut butter. That, of course, is a decidedly mixed blessing when you consider that the FDA allows a fair number of rat hairs in natural peanut butter. Still, they smell great!
  • Fat Snax Lemony Lemon – Lemony Lemon Cookies are one of the company’s newer products. They have a nice light taste and strike a good balance between sweet and sour. The lemon cookies may have the fewest objectionable ingredients in them. A topic we’ll get to now.

What are the ingredients in Low Carb Fat Snax Cookies?

According to nutritional information on the packaging the various flavors of Fat Snax Keto Cookies contain a number of natural and unnatural items including:

  • Almond Flour  – Not to be confused with soy flour, almond flour is nothing more than finely ground almonds. This is another alternative to standard flour but is no improvement for those sensitive to nuts.
  • Butter – Real butter is found in most fat bombs and is a great way to get the healthy fat you need to make your ketogenic lifestyle work. So no problems with butter.

  • Chocolate Chips – Fat Snax chocolate chips are derived from natural unsweetened cocoa and then sweetened with sugar alcohols (see below) and stevia (ditto) to make them more satisfying.
  • Eggs – Eggs are eggs and shouldn’t be a problem unless you have a sensitivity to them or are vegan or vegetarian. Eggs are in all Fat Snax cookies so we highly recommend you use caution.
  • Coconut Flour – Another grain-free flour. After the meat of the coconut has been removed to produce coconut “milk” the remainder of the coconut is crushed into a fine powder known as coconut flour. It’s a low carb gluten free alternative to regular wheat flour.
  • Sustainable Organic Palm Fruit Oil – There are good arguments for seeking an option to any  type of palm fruit oil since the WHO states it raises the risk of heart disease.
  • Erythritol/Xylitol – These are sugar alcohols. They naturally occur in fruit or can be manufactured by humans and added to processed low-carb and keto-friendly snacks and sugar free paleo snacks. In this case they’re combined with stevia in an attempt to replicate the taste of sugar in these kinds of sweets. Sugar alcohols have a habit of acting as a laxative.
  • Xanthan Gum – Xanthan gum is a form of exopolysaccharide. That is, it’s a complex polymer composed of sugar residue born of secretions from certain microorganisms. If that makes you feel a bit uneasy, congratulations! You’re human. Xanthan gum is used in this keto low carb snack as a thickening agent. But it’s also used as a stabilizing agent in lipstick, men’s and women’s lotions and medicines.
  • Aluminum-Free Baking Powder/Baking Soda – Aluminum is one of the materials used as a bleaching agent to make baking powder and baking soda more appealing. In spite of what some might say there is no scientific evidence that standard baking powder/soda poses any health risk. Still, some folks feel more comfortable going aluminum-free for their keto snacks.
  • Salt – According to the nutritional information these cookies have a pretty substantial sodium content. This type of snack will often require salt to make them taste better.
  • Stevia – Raw stevia has been banned by the FDA so the stevia here has undergone a lot of processing to remove compounds the FDA finds objectionable. According to Maria Chaparro of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics “Using stevia is a reasonable strategy to reduce the amount of sugar we consume.”
  • Natural Vanilla/Lemon flavor – No problems here. These are pretty benign keto low carb inclusions that shouldn’t cause any problems regardless of your dietary needs or preferences.
  • Peanut Butter – We’re told it’s organic but it’s hard to pin down exactly what that means. Still, if the pb used here is produced from organically grown peanuts then it should be no problem.

That’s quite a rogue’s gallery of ingredients for a supposedly all natural keto low carb fat bomb snack.

How to use Fat Snax Cookies

Fat Snax are intended to help people living the ketogenic lifestyles satisfy their craving for sweets and to provide them with a healthy alternative to sugary sweet snacks.

There’s no mystery to using these cookies.

If you’re hungry between meals or have sugar pangs that need satisfying you open up a package of Fat Snax cookies and have one or two.

You should see improvement in your cravings, in theory.

And most importantly, you will have filled the void without bumping yourself out of ketosis.

Problems arise with Fat Snax sweets and other similar products because a lot of people read the nutritional information, see that they’re low carb and decide they can use them to actually tip their systems over into ketosis.

By themselves, however, they are simply not capable of producing the requisite ketones. Not even close. If used carefully they might be able to help you stay in ketosis.

But they won’t get you there all by themselves. Unless, of course, you’re dedicated to eating nothing else. But that’s certainly not recommended.

There’s no mystery to using these cookies. If you’re hungry between meals or have sugar pangs that need satisfying you open up a package of Fat Snax cookies and have one or two.

How do Fat Snax Cookies Taste?

We enjoyed the taste of the Fat Snax Chocolate Chip cookies. And, to a lesser degree, the Lemony Lemon. But even at their best these tastes were no improvement over mom’s sugar-heavy traditional homemade cookies or apple or blueberry pie.

But that’s to be expected. All the stevia and xylitol in the world isn’t going to make us smile like the tastes most of us grew up with. So Fat Snax Keto Cookies need to be judged on their own merits.

And if you can do that you’ll likely conclude as we did that they’re pretty good. Nothing to get excited about. Not great-tasting. But pretty good keto snacks.

Are Fat Snax Cookies Compliant with the Keto Diet?

Fat Snax Cookies are technically compliant with the keto diet.

That is, as long as you can control how many you eat, (and you don’t mind scarfing the iffy stuff on the nutritional information label).

Of course, most types of salt are also keto-friendly. But you wouldn’t want to consume too much of that. The point is to use restraint.

What is the Serving Size of Fat Snax Cookies?

The serving size of Fat Snax Cookies is 1.4 ounces per cookie. It’s not recommended that you eat more than one or two of these sweets per day.

The limited number is because the “net carbs” accounting method they use in the nutritional information is a controversial one.

And, due to the inclusion of sugar alcohols and other iffy additives, you could wind up bumping yourself out of ketosis if you ate too many.

Do Fat Snax Cookies Actually Work?

It depends on how you define the word “work”. They will work – at least to some degree – at satisfying your desire for keto sweet snacks. But while they have low “net” carb values they do contain a lot of sugar alcohols.

So if you eat a bunch of them they’ll work to develop gas and perhaps diarrhea. And because they cost about a buck and a half per cookie they’ll certainly work to drain your wallet.

It’s interesting to note that the makers of Fat Snax keto snacks offer a guarantee that is not based on whether they will help you lose weight or tip you into ketosis or keep you in ketosis. It only covers whether or not you “like” the product.

If you don’t like it, they’ll return your money. To be clear they don’t say it will work from a keto low-carb perspective, only that you’ll like it.

That might seem like splitting hairs on our part but remember that companies have lawyers go over such things with a fine tooth comb in order to maximize how they sound and minimize actual liability.

We highly recommend you read that guarantee yourself.

Here’s the thing: people tend to get into dietary deep water by trying to use a product like Fat Snax to try and produce ketones rather than tide them over between meals.

This is a losing proposition that will only end in disappointment. If that’s what you’re after we highly recommend you quit flirting with “low-carb and keto-friendly” sweet snacks laden with questionable ingredients and just opt for some top rated products like Famous Keto instead.

Where can I Buy Fat Snax Cookies?

Fat Snax Cookies are available through Amazon as well as via a host of less reputable websites. But again. If you’re thinking you’ll buy this product and snack your way to ketosis, forget it.

That’s not going to happen. Still, if you like to find things out for yourself and you have money to burn you can pick up some Fat Snax here, where you’ll also find the best current price.

Bottomline: Can We Highly Recommend Fat Snax Cookies?

The makers of Fat Snax Cookies are to be commended for attempting to provide people living the ketogenic lifestyle with a way of satisfying hunger or sugar cravings.

Unfortunately, a lot of people who don’t want to submit to the rigors of the traditional keto low carb diet have been purchasing these keto-friendly snacks to try and jump start ketosis.

That, however, simply isn’t going to happen. Sorry boys and girls, they’re not a fast track to keto happiness.

If you’re looking for a reliable, low-impact, zero side effect way of jump starting your keto low carb efforts we highly recommend you pick up some Famous Keto and cut to the chase.

Once you find yourself in ketosis and are reasonably sure you can maintain that state you may want to pick up some Fat Snax Keto Cookies to hold you over between meals.

As a stand-alone keto low carb ketosis-inducing product however, they are virtually worthless.

Save your money (and at about $1.50 each it could add up to quite a bit of money) and take our advice: pick up some Famous Keto instead.

It’s a great keto product that will get you where you want to be.
